When you try to Install Windows Vista you receive the following error:

Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for the installation are available, and restart the installation 0x80070017

The problem is that files on your Windows Vista DVD is most likely corrupted. On your DVD are the highly compressed files required to install Windows Vista. One or more of these files is causing the 0x80070017 error. You can resolve this problem in a couple of ways.

If you have the original ISO image, re-burn a new copy. Try setting it on a lower burn speed. Get another original copy of the DVD from Microsoft or your local supplier. Download a copy of vlite (from vlite.net) and recreate the ISO with that. Reburn the ISO.

Now when you reinstall Windows Vista, the 0x80070017 error message should be gone.
