One of the cool features in Windows 7 (actually you can do this in Windows Vista as well btw) is the ability to use nifty keyboard shortcuts for items in the quicklaunch area (although Windows 7 doesn't really have a quicklaunch area to speak of).

The first 10 items that you have placed in the Vista quicklaunch area or on the Windows 7 taskbar all have the keyboard shortcut of the "Windows Key" + the number they appear as.

For example, in the image below, if we were to hold down the "Windows" key on our keyboard and hit the number "1″, then it would launch "Internet Explorer". If we were to hold down the "Windows" key on our keybovard and hit the number "2″, then it would launch "Windows Explorer". "Windows" and 3 would launch "Windows Media Player" and so forth.

I've been playing with Windows 7 for a while now and never knew about this tip for Windows 7 or Vista. Thanks.
